BiblioCon '24: Connecting Public Library Professionals and Experts, October 9-11

Toronto, Ontario, September 4, 2024 — BiblioCommonsis excited to announce the return of its annual conference, BiblioCon, which will be held online from October 9-11, 2024.

Building on previous years' success and our commitment to inclusivity, we are waiving all registration fees for this year's conference to ensure participation is open to all public library professionals.

The conference will kick off on October 9, featuring sessions that are relevant to all public libraries regardless of whether they are BiblioCommons customers or not. These sessions will be led by public library staff and industry experts and are designed to inspire and equip attendees with strategies to enhance their library's connection with their communities. Michelle Frisque will present the first session of the day,"Five Rules for Successfully Navigating Change," and Cordelia Anderson's session, "Taking a Community-Based Approach to Branding" will follow shortly after. Staff from Calgary Public Library, Hamilton Public Library, Ottawa Public Library, Richmond Hill Public Library, Tacoma Public Library, Timberland Regional Library, and Vancouver Public Library will share their ideas, processes, and best practices across different topics.

The sessions on day two of the conference are geared toward current BiblioCommons subscribers and will dive deeper into using the BiblioCommons suite of products. Presenters include BiblioCommons team members and library staff from Edmonton Public Library, Palo Alto City Library, Stratford Public Library, and Whatcom County Library System.

A unique feature of BiblioCon '24 is the Office Hours with BiblioCommons Product Managers, scheduled on Friday, October 11. These sessions, which are exclusive to BiblioCommons Partner Libraries, provide an intimate setting for participants to discuss product-specific questions and inquire about the product roadmap. Questions can be submitted and upvoted in advance through the PartnerPortal.

BiblioCon '24 offers a unique opportunity for public library professionals to network with peers and learn from industry leaders about how to effectively use digital tools to enhance the experiences of both patrons and staff. The BiblioCommons product suite and services support a variety of public library departments, and we welcome professionals from across the library, including directors, web managers, content creators, marketing and communications staff, IT professionals, ILS managers, technical services, public service staff, and readers' advisory experts.
