Burlington County Library System Partners with BiblioCommons to Enhance its Digital Library Experience

Toronto, Ontario, January 6, 2024—BiblioCommons is delighted to welcome Burlington County Library System (BCLS) in New Jersey as its newest Partner Library. Through this partnership, BCLS will leverage BiblioCore and BiblioWeb to provide its community with a seamless, unified, and enriching online library experience.

The decision to adopt the BiblioCommons platform comes as BCLS addresses a unique challenge: bridging the gap between its library catalog and website. As library users increasingly expect cohesive digital experiences, this integration is essential. “We really wanted to give our library users a seamless web experience,” shared Ranjna Das, Library Director for BCLS. “Many of our customers don't distinguish between our catalog and the website, and because of this, their online experience with BCLS kept them in two silos. With the BiblioCommons platform, our users will have a more unified experience.”

The BiblioCommons platform offers a discovery-driven approach that helps libraries uncover, curate, and promote their vast offerings. This resonates strongly with BCLS, which is eager to connect its users to resources that matter most. “Whether it’s book and movie recommendation lists, events and programs, or online resources, we are excited about the ease with which we can connect our library users with the things that are most meaningful to them,” added Ranjna.

As a county library system, BCLS serves a population of 360,000 and has a long history of serving its community in innovative ways. From their Mobile Library service—a bookmobile that has been reaching underserved areas for over 100 years—to the Borrow by Mail program that delivers books directly to patrons' homes, BCLS continues to find creative solutions to meet their community’s needs. As the first county library established in New Jersey in 1921, BCLS has always been a trailblazer, and this partnership with BiblioCommons is a continuation of that legacy.

With its adoption of BiblioCore and BiblioWeb, BCLS joins the ranks of leading libraries across North America dedicated to enhancing their patrons’ digital experiences. BiblioCommons is proud to support BCLS in its mission to provide exceptional library services both online and in person.
